Karol (Kazimierz) Grzeskowiak:
Born in 1919 in Katowice, died in 1986. Around 1922 his family moved to Poznan, where he finished vocational school in 1934 and then worked as a locksmith. Since 1932 he was a member of the Polish Scout Association. Since autumn 1939, under the pseudonym “Kondrat”, he participated in the conspiratorial activities of the Polish Scouts (Szare Szeregi), organizing help for the resettled Poles in the Poznan-Glowna resettlement camp, and taking part in the so-called Little Sabotage.
